The gateway of Bundelkhand, Jhansi, is an important city of the northern state of India, Uttar Pradesh. The city is an important railway as well as roadway junction. Jhansi is mainly famous for the daring queen Rani Laxmibai, who stood against the rule of the British. This city of Uttar Pradesh is historically very significant. This historical city of Uttar Pradesh is very well connected by roadways and railways.


The city has a number of tourist landmarks that attract tourists from the different parts of India. Jhansi Fort, built in the year 1613, State Museum and Rani Mahal, which was the palace of Queen Rani Laxmibai are the three most important tourist landmarks of the city. The State Museum accommodates various local antiques like bronzes, terra-cotta, sculptures, paintings, manuscripts, arms and coins of silver, gold and copper. Some other tourist spots of Jhansi are Gangadhar Rao-Ki-Chhatri, Laxmi Tal, Laxmi Bai Park and Shri Kali Temple.

Over the years, Jhansi has evolved to be an important tourist destination of Uttar Pradesh. A large number of tourists visit this place round the year as there are plenty of accommodation options in Jhansi.
